OZZFEST Round Up (12 May 2013)

May 13, 2013 16:54

It's the day after OZZFEST and yesterday everyone was abuzz about it so I've made a round up post of what happened!

At 11:30AM, fade took to the stage at Makuhari Messe.

Setlist:
01. REIMEI〜黎明
02. From the Heart
03. One Reason
04. Close to You (Jp)

This was what it looked like

I scoured twitter to find out what people thought about fade and there were lots of different kinds of feedback. Though in general, the consensus was that fade was "refreshing/fresh" (sawayaka) and of course what stood out was that they were a Japanese band yet had a foreign singer. There were mixed reviews as well, one guy starting off with a meh impression but at the end of their set liked them (though he said "Close To You" was too sweet for his liking).

Some other tweets about them (translated):

fade's vocalist is good. He's the band's strong point

I don't know anything about fade and yet I came to watch them

fade's last song was called Close To You? They were cool!

fade. I don't know anything about them. They're a "refreshing-type" band with rock songs (not too sure how to phrase 爽やか系歌ものロック). But their vocals are weak.

They're a Japanese band but have a Caucasian vocalist. He can speak Japanese and he's really good at interacting with the audience (or, "he has a lot of charisma"). 安心感のあるメロディのクリアボイスの中速ロックバンド. (I'm not too sure how to translate this. It's kinda like their melody has a "sense of security" and even though the songs are fast tempo they have a Clear Voice.) They're a band that'll be popular with the ladies.

Some of the people who were there and watched fade were Akira Yamaoka (they're working with him on the new album too) and Inaba Yukata from U'S MUSIC.
