busy weekend

OH man, I've been so busy this weekend. I'm sorry I haven't commented or responded to comments really or anything. I also know I missed a couple of your calls, I'm so sorry! I can't wait to pay this Sprint bill tomorrow, even though it won't be the whole thing. It should at least turn my phone back on and then I won't miss any more calls while I'm gone (when I get home, I try to remember to check who calls but I usually forget until it's too late to return any calls).

John took the day off on Saturday, which was nice. We slept in a bit, and then went to the mall. We met my mom and sister there (who was there with a few other friends of hers, of course), and had lunch with them. We FINALLY got Reagan some shoes, I am so so happy about it I can't even tell you. I have been feeling like a terrible person, not even having shoes for my baby! Part of it was finances, but the main part was not having transportation to get anywhere while John is working.
We got her some cute brown sandals, and some pink tennis shoes. I always said I didn't really like colored sneakers, and I had to kind of be convinced to buy them (I always want to stick with white, it matches everything), but I like them. They will match most of her stuff anyway, and they are just a pale pink so not obnoxious or anything.

She loves them so much. When we tried on both shoes, she would take off in the most hilarious run, trying to get used to them. Taking them back off was a freaking challenge, she had a meltdown both times.

My mom also bought her an adorable little pink and brown dress outfit (so it matches both shoes!). It's dressy enough to wear to church, but also casual enough to wear on a regular basis. It comes with some brown pants, but I put on some blue jean shorts for church today instead (her dress top mostly covers them). It's just TOO hot for pants right now. It should still fit once it's cold as well.

Ah, Harry Potter, Harry Potter. I finished the 6th book! I'm almost embarrassed to say when I finished it, but I may have already mentioned it. I don't even know. Anyway, I finished it in about a day and a half. Can you believe that? I didn't even really skim that badly, I tried to slow myself down so it would last longer. It has 652 pages! I don't know how I finished it so quickly, because I did manage to get a fair amount of work done and keep the place clean and presentable (for the most part), and played with Reagan. I feel almost guilty, like I have to be sure you all know that I was not neglecting Reagan to read. LOL. I know some of you moms finished the 7th book in a day or two as well, and it's even more pages, so I'm not the only fast reader.

So now I'm in the hunt for the last one. I'm waiting to find out if my niece has finished hers yet, if she even has it, and if she's willing to loan it to me if she has. We shall see. If not, I'm ordering it tonight. I would just go out and buy it (and I tried to do just that today), but Walmart is out and Borders is selling it for almost $30. No thanks.

I really, really need to go grocery shopping but the thought of walking through all those aisles full of food makes my stomach turn. I'm afraid to send John, though. Bless his heart, I used to think he was a great grocery shopper. Then again, I used to suck at it. Now when I send him out, I get back all the wrong brands and sizes, and then add a bunch of canned spam and crab and salmon and junk that neither of us will ever eat. I'm as detailed as I can be, and it still always works that way. I don't get on him about it too much though, it's not worth it. I prefer to do the shopping anyway, I love to keep up with the budget as I go and price-compare and all that other nerdy stuff that he just won't do.

We watched "The Pursuit of Happyness" last night. VERY good movie, it made me count my blessings that's for sure. I have to say I did not really cry, though it was actually almost a stressful movie for me. You just can't believe that one person can have SO MUCH bad stuff happen to them like that. I didn't realize that the little boy was Will Smith's actual son, that makes it so much better. I would definitely recommend it. It made John get a little choked up, but shhhh. ;) I don't think I did just because I was folding clothes while watching, and then I kept having trouble yawning and had to keep pausing so I could focus on that (again. TORTURE).

Ok, long post. I will try and catch up on all the comments you guys have left over the last couple of days (later on, though), and I'm so far behind in my friends list I hope I won't miss anything when I try and catch up. We shall see!
