cloth diaper question
Ok, so I'm a little confused.
I don't know where I read this, or heard it, but I specifically remember someone telling me that you could just replace the inserts in pocket diapers at least twice before changing it out if it's wet (when stuffing it). If it's soiled, that's it, but if it's wet you can replace the prefold. Know what I mean?
Is this wrong info?
Because I'm trying to figure out what the point is in even having a pocket diaper if you have to replace the whole thing every time they do anything. It seems to be the same as an AIO, except maybe it would last a little longer? I know you can put an insert or prefold on the inside and use the pocket as a cover, but is that really the only option on reusing pockets? I feel so confused now, because someone told me that you had to change it every time and now I'm thrown for a loop.
Also, if I use a pocket as a cover, do I just lay the prefold on the inside or should I actually snap it up around her? I'm SO confused. I have so much to learn before baby #2 arrives!
Anyway.
My grandpa has passed away, we're leaving tomorrow morning for the visitation/funeral. So I'll be away at least until Monday.
The doctor's appointment went well, or as well as can be expected when you have someone jamming metal rods and fingers up your private areas and massaging your breasts right in front of your husband. I should be used to this by now. It wasn't as bad this time, but it's been awhile. I'm getting a sono next month to determine an approx. due date and all that good stuff.
I feel so out of sync on our finances. We got a check late here, had to pay an extra bill here, etc etc, and now I'm all turned around and trying to catch up and account for everything. I bought some new pants and shirts yesterday (John had been saving extra $$ so I could! aw), but I think I'm going to return the pants for a bigger size. These are comfy now, but in another couple weeks I know they'll be too small. They already feel tight when I sit down. We also need to pay my brother for some work he did for us, pay John's sister for the same reason, and pay my mom back for when she got us AAA (she insisted and said we could just pay her back when we can, but I want to soon because that's $90 she needs). Blah. I need to know how much we're getting next week from our main account, but I haven't gotten an email with the amount yet and I wish they would hurry so I could do some figuring. :/
John turned the desk around in our living area last night, just how I've been wanting it. It was a surprise to come home to after shopping with Liz. :) There is SO much more room. Now I just need to get rid of the couch by the sliding doors and put up a room divider (among other, more minor, things), and we'll be on our way.
I guess I'm done now.
