First, thanks to everyone who was at pubnight last night.. that was really a great evening. Yay being social, and actually seeing people! *squee*
Secondly. I've stated for a long time that the finest hot chocolate in NYC could be found at La Maison- really, it's just about the platonic ideal of cocoa. My spies inform me that Demel has just opened a satellite to their Vienna store. Locally. Like. At the Plaza. Now, Demel plays heavily in memories of one the most gluttonous weekends of my life, but that weekend is ten years past, and as it was July, I didn't sample their hot chocolate.
Now, I'm not stupid or crazy enough to be willing to go anywhere *near* rock center or the plaza unitl after new years, when the tourists thin out a bit.. but .. who's down for a little field trip in January? Go to one, have cocoa, stumble across town, have more.. sit, consider, discuss the merits of each.. go back to the first for a second sample... *goofy grin*
