so after mannnny hours, i'm done my religion paper.
it probably sucks, oh well.
so being in college you'd think i had learned something... but actually, i haven't learned anything in college... and i didn't learn anything in highschool. everything i've really learned since 8thgrade/middle school has been done on my own. the few things I am really educated in abortion/mormonism/christanity/music/etc. i have learned outside of school.
ok well i take that back, i learned a lot in my sociology class. but besides that.
and then today, i was talking about pro-life/pro-choice with mitch. i used to be SO PRO-LIFE!!! like i went to marches, wore my "ABORTION IS HOMICIDE" shirts/hoodies... i was very "charismatic" about it.and like many other things it seems the more i learn, the less "dogmatic" i am. which isn't always the best. i mean, key example. in mormonism if i had never wanted to be more educated about "what i belived" then i would have never learned all the things i did... i would have never picked up my bible and read... really read.. and i would still be an "Active Member".
so what i'm trying to say is, you spend thousand and thousands and thousands of dollars on education, where in reality most of what you learn in life comes outside of school. i'd be lost without school and i'm glad i'm privileged (see i didn't learn how to spell in school! hah!)enough to be able to be at an University.... however, i think past 8th grade people just stop peaking. some people may learn new things... like mitch and genious' like him, but i think the majority of society gets bored with education and thats why we have such a high dropout-rate/low college attendance.
i think education needs to change. and soon!
