Summary: It’s Puck who finds Rachel after Jesse and Vocal Adrenaline’s attack on her.
Word Count: 220
It’s Puck who finds her by chance, hiding behind a dumpster covered in eggs, crying over her broken heart. He doesn’t ask her who did this to her or what happened; instead he gently pulls her up and guides her back into the school. His touch is gentle as he cleans her up, returning a favour from not that long ago, and Rachel knows that he’s beyond furious, yet Puck holds his tongue. He waits until she’s ready to tell him who hurt her although she’s fairly certain that he already knows that answer.
When she’s clean and wearing his very large t-shirt from his gym bag, Puck still doesn’t say a word. Instead he drives her home and on the way, it just all falls out of her lips, word after word about how Jesse hurt her and betrayed her. When they stop in front of her house, Puck simply enfolds her in his arms.
He doesn’t promise her that it’ll be okay and she doesn’t make him promise to not make Jesse pay for how he hurt her. Tomorrow they both know it’ll all be different and that they’ll revert back to whatever it is that they are, neither of them quite define it as friendship. But for now, she takes comfort in his silence and his strength.
