The prim and proper butler didn’t blink an eye as he opened the door. The guests were a wild and motley group but that wasn’t really any of his business. No his business was merely to serve the guests until Mr. Boddy arrived and played his little game. What does surprise him is how each of them give him a double take as he takes their coats and hats and escorts them to the drawing room. Wadsworth suspects that when this evening’s Mr. Boddy reveals all, it will perhaps explains why Mr. Majors and Miss. Weiss each clutch at his hand before he sternly raises an eyebrow at them.

He wishes that he could confide in Cook but this new Cook is a not really the confiding type, not that the old one was but still, Wadsworth can’t help but think that it would be proper and normal if he could confide in Cook. Instead he merely asks Cook how much longer before dinner will be ready. Once he obtains the answer, he leaves the room to open the door once more.

Finally the last guest has arrived, well the last guest until Mr. Boddy makes his dramatic entrance. Wadsworth waits for them to mull over why they are there, this time there are no fake names and as he eavesdrop he gathers that they each know one another but are confused as to why they have been mysteriously invited to this dinner party. He decides that it is time to call them to dinner so he steps into the elegant drawing room with a grin on his face that could rival the Cheshire Cat and announces dinner.

The six guests follow him into the dining room.

“Excuse me but could you explain why we are here?”

“I’m afraid Miss Columbia that you shall have to wait until after dinner for that,” Wadsworth tells her.

“I find all of this cloak and dagger routine rather unpleasant,” The Criminologist complains.

“One would think that since you make your career out of this, you’d enjoy it.”

“Perhaps old friend, we should dine and then find our answers,” Dr. Scott states.

While the six guests eat, Wadsworth enters the drawing room only to find Mr. Boddy starting moodily out of the window.

“Sir, shall I get you anything?” Wadsworth asks.

With a dramatic sigh, Mr. Boddy turns around, and Wadsworth tries not to raise an eyebrow at the fishnets and the red sequined corset but miserably fails.

“Perhaps a glass of champagne?” Mr. Boddy answers.

“Certainly sir, is there anything else?”

“Is it too late to call this all off?”

“I am afraid so sir,” Wadsworth replies before handing Mr. Boddy his glass of champagne.”

“Well call them in then, Wadsworth, hopefully you shall prove to be a better handyman than the last one.”

Wadsworth exits the drawing room and makes his way to the dining room.

“Ladies and gentleman, if you shall follow me, your questions shall be answered,” Wadsworth tells them.
