[spn/vm] chasing monsters in the dark 1/10

Oct 18, 2008 15:33

I've decided to write a crossover series based on the 10_postcards challenge where you select a table of ten prompts, write one hundred postcard exchanges between two characters. This series will follow the events in Ghost Hunts in Neptune, which took place in the second week of July 2005.

Title: Chasing Monsters in the Dark
Author: aaronlisa
Fandom: Supernatural/Veronica Mars
Characters/Pairings: Dean Winchester, Veronica Mars
Rating: FR13
Disclaimer: Supernatural belongs to Eric Kripke and company, while Veronica Mars belongs to Rob Thomas and company.
Prompts: 10_postcards Table H - #1 (dark)
Notes: This series of postcards are exchanged between July 2005 and the first week of October 2005.
Notes 2: This post contains ten images representing the postcards sent back and forth between Veronica and Dean. All images were found either through Wikipedia or Google Image searches and were modified by myself. For Neptune, I have used Oceanside, CA as a substitute.
Summary: Veronica and Dean exchange postcards.

1.

Postcard from Neptune, postmarked July 21 and sent to a post office box in South Dakota.

Hey Dean, I know that the chances of you getting this anytime soon aren't great but I had to write to someone who knows. Ever since that night, the dark seems like a scarier place now. Veronica

2.

Postcard sent from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, postmarked July 31, sent to Neptune, CA. Postcard has a torn corner.

Veronica, I'm assuming that everything is okay since you didn't call my cell. It seems that once you know what's really out there, it's hard to turn your back on it even when you should. Dean

3.

Postcard from Neptune, postmarked August 18, sent to a post office box in South Dakota

Hey Dean, sorry for the delay but I've been busy with some cases. I just wanted to let you know that you shouldn't worry about me quitting my day job and going into your line of work. Veronica

4.

Postcard from Silver City, NM, postmarked August 31, sent to Neptune, CA.

I've been meaning to write but like you I've had a heavy caseload and the Impala needed some work. Anyhow I am relieved to hear that you won't be chasing monsters in the dark. Dean

5.

Postcard from Neptune, CA, postmarked September 9, sent to a post office box in South Dakota

Your phone number's been disconnected and with your last card I'm worried especially with everything that goes bump in the night. Call me as soon as you can to let me know you're okay. V

6.

Postcard from Portland, OR, postmarked September 10, sent to Neptune, CA.

Veronica, just a quick card to let you know that my phone got destroyed the other day and I'll call you in a day or two with my new number. I hope all is well in your neck of the woods. Dean

7.

Postcard from Neptune, CA, postmarked September 13, sent to a post office box in South Dakota.

Dean it was great to hear your voice and you'll be glad to know that the nightmares stopped. When I couldn't get a hold of you I had thought the worse because of your line of work. Veronica

8.

Postcard from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, postmarked September 20, sent to Neptune, CA.

Veronica, I might be MIA for a few weeks so if you don't hear from me don't worry. I'll write or call you when I can but I am off to New Orleans to check out a haunted house or two. Dean

9.

Postcard from Neptune, CA, postmarked September 28, sent to a post office box in South Dakota.

Dean things are really bad here and even though I know you're out there saving people, I wish you were here. Sometimes the dark doesn't just contain paranormal and ficitonal monsters. VM

10.

Postcard from New Orleans, postmarked October 11, sent to Neptune, CA.

Veronica, I really wish I could come and be there for you more than anything but I've lost contact with my Dad. As you know in our line of work this can be very serious. Call me, Dean.
