Summary: It's snowing and Christmas so Willow goes to Buffy's house.

It's snowing gently outside and although she wonders at the sight before her eyes, Willow writes it off as a Sunnydale occurrence. When she turns on the radio, the announcer mumbles some line about the snow before starting another block of holiday music. Willow dresses in her warmest clothes before leaving her house and making her way to Buffy's house.
When she gets there, Buffy greets her with a warm smile and a hug before gently pulling her into the warm house. Willow shivers when she realizes that her warmest clothes weren't quite warm enough. Buffy fusses over her and about how cold Willow is and for once in a very long time she feels like someone actually cares about her.
"You must be so cold," Buffy exclaims. "Lets get you out of those damp clothes and into a warm bath."
Buffy guides Willow up the stairs after Willow has taken off her boots and outer layer of clothes. In the bathroom, the tub's already full of steaming water and before Willow's even aware, she's practically undressed. She blushes under Buffy's gaze who merely laughs her off, explaining that she used to be on the cheer team back in LA, so nudity is kind of overrated. Willow nods but still is shy around Buffy until the blonde shuts the door.
It's easy for Buffy who has the perfect body and guys drop at her feet all of the time. Still, Willow takes off the rest of her clothes and steps into the tub. She hisses at first at the heat washing over her body before she sinks into the hot water. It's scented with jasmine and vanilla, just like how Buffy smells. Willow blushes as she thinks about how her thoughts for her friend have taken on a new meaning in the last few months.
After the whole debacle of kissing Xander and being caught, she and Oz never got back together. Oz had forgiven her and had even been extremely understanding but Willow just couldn't beg him to take her back. She cared a lot about Oz but deep down, it wasn't the same way that she cared about Buffy.

A knock on the bathroom door startles Willow into alertness. The water has gotten colder and she had been dozing.
"Are you okay in there Willow?" Buffy asks. "There's egg nog, if you want to join us downstairs."
"Oh okay," Willow says.
"I left you some of my pjs on the counter."
"Thanks," Willow replies.
Thankfully the pyjamas are the warm flannel type and Willow puts them on after drying herself off. She finds her way downstairs to the kitchen where Joyce and Buffy are waiting for her. Sure enough there's egg nog and ginger cookies. Willow smiles and wishes again that her family were more like Buffy's family or even like Xander's instead of being the type of who don't do anything for the holidays or any other event.
She takes a sip of the fragrant cocktail and blushes when she tastes rum. She looks up at Buffy in shock. Did she take the wrong mug from the counter? Did she accidentally take Joyce's?
"Mom thought that it'd be best if you had a bit of rum in yours since it was so cold outside."
"I hope that you're not planning on going home tonight," Joyce says with a smile.
"No I guess not," Willow says.
"Good, I'll go set things up in the living room then," Joyce says to the pair of them.
"You've got a bit of nog on your lip," Buffy says.
Before Willow can react, Buffy's wiping it off for her using her thumb. If Buffy's thumb happens to trace Willow's top lip, Willow pretends she's not feeling things that she shouldn't. One fluke in their circle was allowed because everyone knew how long Willow had pined after Xander. If she even reacted slightly to how the gentle touch is making her feel, she's sure that their group of friends would be calling for her banishment.
Willow misses the strange look in Buffy's eyes as she casts her glance downwards and mumbles about how they should probably head to the living room. She really can't afford to have another crush on a friend, she needs to get her head straight and remember that friends are just friends and that they're not potential romantic partners especially when they're Buffy shaped and straight and into men like Angel. There's no way that Buffy could even look at her twice when she's been with someone like Angel.
She sighs and follows Buffy into the family room. And although she knows that she shouldn't they somehow wind up on the couch curled up underneath a blanket while they watch all of the holiday movies possible. Joyce even apologizes for the fact there's none celebrating Hanukkah and Willow just shrugs her shoulders. She's not really done anything for the holidays other than exchange Christmas gifts with her friends and go over to Xander's (She doesn't mention how this year, Cordelia has Xander on a tight leash and won't let him anywhere near Willow.)

Eventually Joyce tells them good night and then it's just her and Buffy and things feel awkward again. And Willow's not sure what to do. She's about to say something but Buffy's leaning forward, one hand behind Willow's neck and the other on her shoulder and then they're kissing and Willow's shocked, surprised and oh so happy. Until they pull apart and she's consumed by guilt.
Oh no what has she done. They're just friends and Buffy has to be under some sort of curse or spell because why else would she be kissing her because they're just friends and friends don't do this. And if they do this, then nothing good can come out of it - just look at her and Xander. And oh no, Angel is going to hate her for this betrayal and she's not going to have any friends anymore.
"Willow quit thinking," Buffy calmly says as she rubs her hand up and down Willow's arm. "It's okay. I want this. I really, truly want this."
"But I am just me," Willow says as if that's supposed to explain everything.
And maybe for Buffy it does because she gets this smile that Willow's only ever seen on Buffy's face when the blonde was thinking about Angel. Before she can protest, Buffy's kissing her again and it feels like Heaven. It feels like everything that a kiss should feel like.
"That's why I am kissing you," Buffy says just against her lips.
This time it's Willow who moves forward and closes the tiny space between them and kisses Buffy first. She's almost afraid that Buffy's going to pull away and laugh at her but Buffy doesn't and before long one kiss turns into multiple.
