It's always a push and pull between them. Even now when Sunnydale is nothing more than a crater in the ground and they're not the only two vying to be the Chosen One. Every time that one of them gives an inch, the other builds up a walk. It's exhausting and Faith is tired of it all. She sighs before pulling on a pair of skimpy black panties, unconcerned about who they belong to. Then she pulls on her skin-tight black jeans. Faith's made up her mind: she's going to leave now before Buffy gets out of the shower and sweet talks her into staying, before they start tearing one another apart all over again. When she's dressed, she picks up a tube of red lipstick and paints her lips with the colour of blood, hiding the bruises from Buffy's earlier kisses. The shower shuts off and Faith's closing the door of the cheap motel behind her. The soft click signals an end of an era in her life. Let Buffy guide the new Slayers on her own, it's probably better if Faith goes now, before the new Council is built. After all, Faith's never been the kind of girl to lead others.
