I never got around to posting my drabbles for the now defunct
drabbles20in20 over here. That was rather annoying: a very promising community opens up and then gets deleted with any word of why to the members.
Title: Reflected
Author:
aaronlisaFandom: Dollhouse
Pairing/Characters: Echo
Rating: FR13
Disclaimer: Dollhouse belongs to Joss Whedon and company.
Prompts: Written for round one at
drabbles20in20 for the prompt of mirror.
Notes: Set just after the events in 1x04 "The Gray Hour."
Word Count: 100
As she touches her face and watches as her reflection in the foggy mirror does the same, Echo almost feels as if it was someone else staring back at her instead of her familiar reflection. It is almost as if the stranger in the mirror is the real person while she is just the reflection who wears the same body and the same blank expression. Echo almost feels as if she is the copy and the once familiar stranger peering back at her is the reality. Yet she knows that this can't be true even if she's not sure how.

It was such a minor thing in the greater scheme of things since they were fighting a war but it still tore her apart when Paul looked at her now. His once warm gaze was flat and devoid of all the emotion that had filled it for months. What they had between them had been smashed to pieces first by Alpha and then by Topher until Echo felt that it was completely irreparable. His affections transferred from her to November or more accurately to the imprint that Topher had first cooked up in order to keep Paul Ballard in line.

Rating: FR13
Disclaimer: Dollhouse belongs to Joss Whedon and company.
Prompts: Written for
drabbles20in20 for the prompt of mimic.

Alpha mimics her every move, making her actions a mockery. If she steps towards the imprint chair, he steps towards it. She knows that if she actually tries to dismantle it, he'll stop her. He doesn't believe in her war instead he still sees them as some sort of super humans destined to rule the world. Her truth is still a lie to him and his goal is to stop her at all costs. Still she steps forward, closer to the chair, until he breaks from the game and tightly grips her upper arms in yet another stalemate between them.
