Boredom had brought Faith to the Bronze. Boredom had her on the dance floor bumping and grinding against the pathetic losers who were drooling over her. She had no intention of going home with any of them despite the way they looked at her. And if any of them thought different, well Faith could easily take them on.

Faith suddenly tenses as she grinds against one that kind of reminds her of a boy she once knew. There’s a vampire in the Bronze and although that’s not terribly surprising, she can feel the waves of power radiating off of this one. Faith carelessly tosses her head and sees the vampire. For a brief moment she feels gutted even though her senses are telling her that she sees can’t be right.

Still she’s a consummate actress and she grins a challenge, pushing her way through the boys who foolishly think they can take her on. As if.

She leans against the wall and she realizes that she hadn’t been mistaken. It’s Willow all trussed out in leather and most importantly she’s a vampire. Faith doesn’t know how it’s possible but she decides that she doesn’t really care.

“Wow. Willow’s all fangy. Didn’t see that coming.”

Willow smirks at her before replying. “Did you see this?”

Before Faith can react, Willow’s hands have cupped her face and she’s kissing Faith. It feels as if her blood’s singing. The semi-crush that she has had on the redhead since she first laid eyes on the shy hacker leaps forward as Faith tastes Willow’s lips. It’s more than she ever even imagined.

When Willow scrapes her fangs against Faith’s lips, the Slayer doesn’t even care about the fact they’re in the middle of the Bronze, instead she shudders against Willow and for a few brief seconds she just lets herself feel. Then her instincts kick in and she punches Willow in the gut. Hard enough to cause the vampire to stumble backwards, her face shifts back into the familiar visage.

Faith smirks when she sees a brief flash of hurt in Willow’s eyes. She’s wanted to do that for a very long time. As much as she’s had a crush on Buffy’s best friend, Faith’s hated her sanctimonious attitude. It’s not as if Willow’s much better than Faith is. The only thing that separates them is that Willow’s had better opportunities than Faith has had.

“Are you sure? Was it too soon?”

Faith weighs Willow’s words and she realizes that as a vampire Willow’s not as hung up on certain conventions, as she was when she was alive. She’s seen the sly, speculative glances that Willow’s cast at Buffy, Cordelia and even Faith when they’ve been busy researching in the library. And she thinks that maybe she can enjoy this before she does what she’s destined to do.

“Not driving stick anymore, Will, are you?” Faith asks, making her voice seductive as she drawls the words.

Willow leans forward and kisses her again just before biting her lip. It hurts but Faith’s never had a problem with pain as long as sex is involved. They keep kissing, their lips, tongues and teeth sparring with one another as they manage to maneuver themselves into the alley behind the Bronze.

Just as the cool night air hits them, Faith pushes Willow from her with all of her force smirking as the redheaded vampire stumbles backward. She’s not sure what she wants to do. Part of her is telling her to just be done and fuck the redhead senseless while she has the chance and another part of her is screaming at her to pull her stake out and slay the bitch.

“Bring it on, Slayer,” Willow hisses before swinging a kick at Faith’s head.

And Faith does. She lets loose all of her frustration and they fight for what seems like an eternity before Faith finally pushes Willow up against the brick wall of the warehouse that stands beside the Bronze. When she raises her hand to stake Willow, she realizes that her hands are empty. Willow’s golden-green gaze seems to taunt her so Faith cups Willow’s breast delighting in the purr that the vampire emits.

Willow leans forward and kisses Faith again. Faith pushes away the indecision; she decides that if it’s okay for Buffy to have her vampire boyfriend then it’s more than okay for her to have a quickie with a vampire Willow. She grunts when Willow’s nails dig into Faith’s chest. It hurts but it feels deliciously good.

Faith’s left hand slips from her chest towards the fastening of the tight leather pants. Willow whines when Faith’s hand manages to slip into her pants and then just as Faith is about to find out if Willow’s completely eschewed the idea of underwear as a vampire when Willow vanishes.

Faith swears under her breath and punches the wall. She doesn’t know what’s happened but she suspects that Buffy’s and her precious Watcher are somehow to blame. She pulls her tank top straight and storms back into the Bronze looking for Buffy or Giles or some clue that one of Buffy’s precious friends is there. But she finds nothing. She turns on her heel and leaves.

Somehow she finds herself in front of Willow’s house twenty minutes later. She creeps about until she’s standing just outside the French doors that lead into Willow’s bedroom. Her eyes widen in surprise when she sees the redhead sitting at her computer desk, furiously typing away at the keyboard. Faith bites her lower lip and hisses at the pain.

She’s not sure what happened but she knows that it was Willow or a version of Willow in that alleyway. Her abused lower lip is a testament to that. She slinks off into the night, completely confused as to what happened. Or how Willow could be a vampire and very much alive at the same time. She makes her way to the apartment that the Mayor has recently given her and she decides against telling the Mayor. She suspects that he’d probably use it as a way to harm Willow and despite her hatred for Buffy; Faith doesn’t want Willow to get hurt. Well anymore than she will as Buffy’s sidekick.

That night, Faith lies awake for a very long time trying to work things out but she can’t and it frustrates her more when morning comes and she’s no closer to figuring things out. She finally decides to push it out of her mind and chalk it up to just another random weird event that comes from living on the Hellmouth. And she ignores the bruised feeling in her heart. Yet again, she had something so close in her reach only to have it snatched out of her hands. Like always.
