2nd Chance
I really should be getting some rest right now. Papa will no doubt come knocking at my door soon if he realizes I'm still awake. Ahhh, but I'm antsy. Echizen agreed to play a game against me tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to it. Especially since we didn't get the chance to play one another like I'd hoped when my team once again had the chance to play against his in the tournament.
I had made a promise to myself that I would become ten times better by then and beat him this time around! And I have! I've been working nonstop with Papa and Kazama-sensei and Kushida-san. So did the rest of the team. We exhausted ourselves with exercises to the point of collapse on several occasions. But it was worth it. They've all gotten better because of it. We've all gotten better from it. And I think that after all of this, they really have come to truly respect me as their buchou, and not just the coach's kid who gets special attention and rides Daddy's coattails. At least, that's what I like to hope.
....Unfortunately, it seems it still didn't pay off in the end...and we lost to Seigaku again. It really frustrated Wataru and Masato the most, I think, and all my attempts to console them didn't seem to do much good. I think even now they're still a bit downhearted. But I was upset that I never got the opportunity to prove my worth once again. They had beaten us before I even got the chance. So now I'll be able to make up for it finally. I've been waiting for it for an entire year.
...Though seriously, I'm going to be sluggish on the court if I can't fall asleep here. If it comes down to it, I suppose I'll simply try to take a nap during lunch period.
Oh, but that reminds me, I forgot to ask Echizen where I'm supposed to meet him. Echizen, if you see this, please be sure to let me know. If I don't get an answer from you by the end of school tomorrow, I suppose I'll...just have to come over to Seigaku to get you, I suppose....N-Not that I've ever been there before or happen to be familiar enough with your school to know exactly where to find you, but I-I'm sure if I hunt a bit I would stumble across you. Also, if Ibu-kun wishes to come and watch us, he is more than welcome. And my offer to introduce him to my aunt still stands if he is still feeling any stiffness by then.
