Dear Bruins fans,
It is one thing to chant "USA, USA," even though it is dumb and doesn't really make sense, because it is a parade and I realize there is only so much I can ask of drunk people in a crowd. I don't even mind chanting crowds, I am all for explaining to my sister that you are cheering for Nathan Horton or "Loooooooch"ing rather than booing. Wearing a shirts that say things about how Canadians suck, though, is something we need to discuss. How on earth did you ever think that made sense? Do you really not realize where most of the guys who just won you the cup are from? Because I will give you a hint: IT IS NOT THE USA. IT IS IN FACT, CANADA. The Bruins have a grand total of four Americans, two fewer than the Canucks, and let's be honest, Tim Thomas is the only one who really had an effect in this series. I know that you're going to be negative about other teams, and this is sports which is so completely arbitrary anyway, but could you perhaps pick an arbitrary negative remark that is at least vaguely accurate? It's much nicer when you stick with players' numbers. Those Lucic fight club shirts weren't bad either! There are so many options. It is just simple logic. I know this is probably asking too much, but a girl can live in hope.
Thank you and have a nice summer, presumably saying mean things about people who play against the Red Sox.
PS - The "Sedin Sisters" shirt wasn't actually as cool as you thought it was.
(But for reals the parade was quite fun, despite that one dude who kept screaming and spraying beer all over himself/those nearby him/my feet, since he left as soon as the cup passed by, and despite the fact that I couldn't see that well and missed several people. At least we saw some of them, unlike the very nice dude I sat next to on the way home who told me about watching Bobby Orr play in '70 and '72. Plus I wandered around the waterfront while everyone else went to meet up with people I didn't know at a crowded bar, and it was lovely!)
ETA: And apparently Clarence Clemons died? I knew he'd had a stroke, but I didn't realize how bad it was, apparently :(
