Christmas fic!
This is a bit late, but... shhh. XD; It's the traditional (?) Yamada and Chinen Christmas fic! XD;

author’s note: I’ve written a Yamada and Chinen Christmas fic most other years, so I decided to do it again, a little late, this year. It’s not really much of anything because I was rushed, but it’s for shiritori @ writetomyheart!
summary: Having Chinen close and seeing his smile and his happiness is more than enough to be the best present he could possibly imagine.
He tries to fight it as his eyes start to close, but the day had been so long, and Chinen’s arms are so warm… But even if it’s an effort in futility, Yamada wants to cling for just a little longer to the happy memories of the day, and so he tries to force himself into wakefulness for just a little longer, pressing a gentle kiss to Chinen’s forehead absently as he remembers all that they’d done in the past twelve hours.
Things have been intensely busy, what with preparations for both Johnny’s Countdown and their own very New Year’s concert in Tokyo Dome, as well as Yamada and Chinen’s respective movie filmings, but Yamada had been determined to make Christmas eve special, even despite everything that was going on, no matter what. And so as soon as rehearsal had ended in the early afternoon, he’d ushered Chinen to his own car, which he’d practically had to bribe his manager into allowing him to bring, promising that he was taking Chinen out for a Christmas surprise and that it would be good enough to make up for missing out on the hamburgers that Yuto and Keito had invited them out for… which became a little more difficult when, halfway to Yamada’s planned destination, they had hit heavy traffic and Chinen had begun to tease him about kidnapping him because he was jealous when Chinen spent time with Yuto and Keito, which had caused Yamada to get even more worked up than the stress over the traffic had already stressed him out, which had caused Chinen to kiss him on the cheek with a calm down, I don’t want anything more than to spend Christmas with you…
But eventually, they’d made it to the planned destination without Yamada’s blood pressure getting too high, and Chinen had been just as surprised and delighted as Yamada had hoped he’d be when they’d pulled up to a fancy resort hotel in Kusatsu and Yamada had passed the keys off to the valet before checking them in to a suite with a private bath for the night. He’d been in the middle of trying to explain that he’d figured Chinen wouldn’t want a full schedule of romantic Christmas activities at a time when work was so busy when Chinen had suddenly started shucking off his clothes the moment the door to their room was closed and hopping into the bath with a pleased grin on his face. You know me too well, he’d replied when Yamada had asked what he was doing, Now hurry up and get in with me, and well, Yamada couldn’t exactly say no to that.
And so they’d spent the evening bathing and relaxing and eating room service before eventually collapsing into their futon together with the knowledge that they didn’t have to be at rehearsal until the evening tomorrow. It was so relaxing and so perfect to have Chinen curled up against his side all evening, in the bath and at dinner and in the futon, and as Yamada drifted off to sleep, he couldn’t help but think that even if this wasn’t his idea of a “proper” Christmas date, having Chinen close and seeing his smile and his happiness all evening was more than enough to be the best present he could possibly imagine.
