There's actually a sort of silly story behind this icon XD; The person featured in it is another girl in the Bryn Mawr dance program performing in the Tabitha Senior Thesis showing from 2010. The thesis that year, entitled Chrysalis, included a really moving duet about addiction/unhealthy attachment, and I loved the piece so much that I made some icons from photos of the dance. A lot of them are not very good (it was a long time ago and I was having too much fun with light textures XD;) but I still really like this one. The text is actually a misheard lyric from the song the dance was performed to, "Hide and Seek" by Imogen Heap, and I really feel like the dance and the song and everything sort of fit with the relationship I've had with dance as an institution and an art form over the years. So... even if it's sketch to have an icon of one of my classmates, I'm keeping it! XD;;;

The image from this icon is a screencap from *pnish*'s Maharaja Mode, which is an excellent play, by the way. XD; Shiva, the character in the icon, is sort of the leap-before-you-look sort, and therefore gets into a lot of GDI-type situations. His expression is sort of perfect for an icon to that effect, so it's very useful :D

After watching Maou, I was super attached to the main pair (if you will), Serizawa (Toma's character) and Naruse (Ohno's character), and really wanted to make some icons of them together. There was this one really cute scene during [SPOILERS] that I wanted to use, and so, shamelessly, I did! XD; I really love their expressions and their position and everything about them, and... if you haven't watched Maou, you really should, seriously. [/shameless plug] I should really attempt to write fic for it one of these days...

I originally grabbed this icon because I feel like the expression and emotion to it are unique and useful to livejournal-ing and the like, but also because MC Kamiyama is the love of my life. Seriously, the Quiz Show is such a great show that I don't even know what to do. I love Sho in that role and I love everything about MC Kamiyama, so I'm happy to have an icon of him~ :D

Chinen! ♥ I seriously love Chinen like way too much for my own good. XD; There's just something about his prissy, bitchy, fanboying, lazy, adorable self that I can't get over. I love this icon because I feel approximately as skeptical as Chinen looks in the icon with some regularity, and what better way to express that than through Chinen? |D; Yes, I'm a completely lost cause. BUT GUYS, HE'S SO CUTE THAT SHO COULDN'T HELP BUT PINCH HIS CHEEKS. AND HE LOVES OHNO. AND ARASHI. AND WHAT MORE COULD YOU EVER WANT?
