rest in peace, alli.

someone that had a profound influence on me died yesterday.
i didnt know her that well, but she taught me a lot about myself, about my beliefs. i found solace in her writing when i was going through a very hard time a few years ago. she made me understand a lot of things, about what it means to be strong, what it means to fight for what you believe in. she let me know it was okay that i felt the way i did. she was a strong, powerful woman, and influenced so many people in her short, wonderful life.
allison crews, you will be missed greatly.
ill never forget what you did for me.

one of alli's supporters wrote a poem that says everything else.

and with no more than a quiet buzzing, the lights go out
and we gasp for air.
there is no one here to wipe away the tears
so we lay alone but together
joined only by our sorrow.
It grows heavier now
and I know she will always be waiting
for the lights to come back on
