Dmitri and I (and our new friend Steve!) finally found a place to live! WOOO! we are moving here:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/8075609@N08/sets/72157600141147146/show/ on May 29th! the landlords bought the condo brand new, a year ago, but have to move to jefferson and are going to rent it out instead of sell it. they are really laid-back and awesome. the townhouse is beautiful and so new AND only $900/mo. ($300 each). it has THREE bedrooms and THREE FULL bathrooms. huzzah. so, my zen room/guest bedroom is downstairs and across the hall is a full bathroom, for us or when guests stay. the upstairs is two pretty equal sized rooms, one with one closet and a bathroom that can also be accessed from the hallway, the other is the master and has 2 closets and a bathroom with a double sink! perfect for a couple with a roommate - we wont bother each other! the only thing that sucks is the location. its about 15 minutes from school, 10 minutes from downtown. but its not the distance, its literally the location - off of crappy patton ave on new leicester hwy...like... DOWN leicester hwy. but there are back roads to take during rush hour so at least there are ways to avoid dealing with patton...which i abhor. but there's a big new grocery store across the street, and a sonic below us on the mountain. another plus is that whenever it snows i will totally have an excuse not to go to class... we are literally up on a mountain and the road is steep, steep, steep!
so, anyway, mike schoolman, we're ready for you and crystal this summer! you best be comin' on.
school is wrapping up soon. the nice thing about being a senior who isnt graduating is that you're in the classes with graduating seniors and all the professors either dont do an official final, make it an easy one, and have the opportunity to turn it in early (senior grades are due may 2nd, the rest of us dont even start exams until may 4th!). so i'm completely done tuesday afternoon, before exams even start! woot! just a paper to write this weekend (i'm putting it off, can you tell?), a multiple choice test on tuesday, history online final tuesday, and a 3 page reflective essay for humanities whenever i want to turn it in. yayy.
last night dmitri took me out to tupelo honey, it was sooo good. then we went over to robert's to hang out with everyone. i only had 3 small glasses of wine and two shots of tequila... and this morning i vomited like crazy. wtf?? it was a pretty fun time though. it did end up being one of those nights where people drink too much, but it was a good crowd and i was buzzed enough to avoid it and just have a good time. not down with the leftovers i'm dealing with today though. i really don't get it. i guess i just didn't drink enough water or something. ashley and i were supposed to work on our papers at the dripolator at 1 but i was dying so that didn't happen. its also really icky outside, so i'm going to go over there in a few and we're going to do some work. yay papers. mine is going to be such bullshit, i can tell.
oh! also, i rule in school. even though i skip class way too much. i got the research award and the rising senior awards from the mass comm department. that was exciting. it feels so good to have undergrad research behind me. it ended up being a really cool experience, which i never ever expected. but it was so much work and stress and i'm so glad its done. i got my paper back at our class lunch yesterday - i got an A, so i have an A in the class. west kept telling us throughout the semester how awesome we were, and yesterday at lunch he told us we were the best research class he ever had or could ever imagine having again and that every class in future semesters would be judged based on us! lol. it was great.
well i'm off to work on my paper so i hopefully don't fail west's history class. bleh!
ta, yall!
