The End?

We recently had our overseer visit, and in his talk he spoke of myspace (and similar sites). Although he talked about the usual stuff like people using it to hook up and blogs that are basically demoralizing, he did say one thing that's been resonating with me. He said something to the effect that even if your site only speaks of happy things, the governing body is strongly urging us to close them. Now, I don't know why this counsel is being given. Maybe apostates are sneaking in, or people are being tempted, I dunno. What I do know is they only ever tell us things for our benefit. So although this means that I won't be in touch with people as much as I would like, the truth is that I wasn't really ever in touch anyway, since even digitally it's possible to drift away from your friends. They didn't flat out say "WE COMMAND YOU TO CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNT!!" but then again they never do. Still, they were pretty clear.

This may not be permanent, I don't know. All I know is that this will be my final entry for a while. Not that we all use this very much anyway... So although I was whining a month or so ago, it seems I will be joining those who have left this site. Ironic, isn't it?

Does this mean that to stay in touch with people I'll have to *gasp* speak to them?? what a terrifying thought!

I'll still stick around and read other people's as long as they post, and I'll comment as well. So I guess I'll only be fully gone if everyone else leaves.

Faithful in the least, right?
