[It's getting late, and Kallen's just leaning against the railing of an empty balcony, looking out over the city. She looks a little down, but might not mind some company.]
[ .. Peony's got a knack for just kind of being there. Coming up beside her, he leans his arms onto the railing as well; instead of looking down, he's looking up into the sky. ]
[She wasn't expecting company, so jumps a little when Peony's just suddenly there. Usually she's a lot better at noticing other peoples' presence, but tonight she's just kind of...off. She glances up at him for a minute before following his gaze.]
Yeah. [Pauses.] I haven't seen you around in a while.
Do you have someone? [The words are blurted before she can fully process what she's about to say, and she flushes more deeply. She tucks a strand of hair behind her ear, annoyed with herself.] Not that that's any of my business. Sorry.
A lot of the girls seem to like you here, you know. [She's not quite looking at him and finds herself fidgeting slightly, rolling the hem of her sleeve between her fingers. She shrugs after a moment.] So I'm sure you wouldn't have any trouble.
[For some reason that reaction irritates her. It's dumb to be irritated, and she knows it, but she can't help it and it's just--frustrating.] Guess so. [She straightens, dusting herself off before starting to head back towards the sliding door.]
No. [And that's just it, isn't it? Nothing's happened, she feels like a stupid school girl around him for no reason, because he flirts with everyone and she shouldn't be special and even if he did mean something by it-- It's taking a lot for Kallen to not just blurt this all out, her chest tight as her fingers clench around the door handle, shoulders slumping slightly.] I shouldn't be bothering someone as important as you with my problems, anyway.
Makes me miss the stars, sometimes.

You're out here all alone? No one to keep you company?

[ He shrugs and turns around, leaning his elbows back against the railing instead, so he can sideglance her. ] But what do I know.~

Me? Ah. Not at the moment, nope. Woe is me, maybe it's because I'm too old.
