we actually made it up until midnight last night and wished some of my online acquaintances a happy new year. didn't get a hold of anyone in my family, though, so it was just kind of a quiet and solitary new year for us. I like a quiet night, though. we watched more Brisco and petted the dog and stuff.
being very tired, I went to bed before 1:00, and I guess David came to bed about 3:00. so I woke up when David came to bed, and somewhere in there, Randy puked in our bedroom. I didn't notice it right away, actually, because I was between sleep and waking. but no worries. David woke me up so we could turn the lights on and have a look.
it wasn't much. David went and got our vomit supplies, we dealt with it, and went back to bed.
5:30, Randy pukes again.
I was probably a little awake already, because our alarm goes off at that time normally. I dunno. I just know I was awake suddenly and had to deal with the new mess. which... turned out not to be much of a mess.
mostly, he puked up bile. which stains terribly unless you treat it right away. I speak about this from experience, because of dealing with this with Andy back in the day. anyhow, so I looked at what he puked up. I couldn't figure out what he hell it was. it wasn't dog food. it looked vaguely like he had gotten a hold of some poop, in spite of our best efforts, but it... it wasn't. it was...
a glove. David reminded me that Randy had gotten a hold of and eaten an entire glove of his. one of his thinsulate type glove liners that you wear under your heavy gloves for an extra layer of protection. that sort of glove. an entire glove. which of course, now we have to replace.
we treated the mess, and went back to bed. a little before 8:00, Randy finally convinced us that he really needed to get up even though he had been out less than six hours before. because it was way past breakfast time. he didn't know he wasn't going to get breakfast. [actually, I guess David did give him breakfast after all. he wasn't sure originally if he should if Randy's stomach was unsettled.]
I managed to get David to get up and take care of the dog. Randy then came back upstairs and stuck his nose into my face before he settled onto his bed again. for a while.
about 9:00, he said it was time for me to get up. I probably could have kicked him out of the room and tried to get some actual, you know, sleep, but it was late and I didn't want to mess up my sleep schedule too terribly much.
so Randy wishes you all a happy new year. Robyn is grumbling groggily.
holidays,
randy
