not quite as early as in December 2007, but still memorable.
I stayed home yesterday from work, because of the "travel not advised" thing. the van didn't go to work, so I didn't, either.
spent a day hanging out. if I'd had baking supplies, I could have worked on cookies, but I'm not sure that I was really feeling that ambitious. and I didn't have baking supplies. except eggs and butter. I have lots of eggs and butter.
the trip home from work on Tuesday was remarkable only in that traffic was so incredibly light! it still took us a little extra time to get home in the crappy weather, but not as long as we were fearing. it seemed like most every one else left early, and were actually heeding the warnings to stay off the roads.
Randy doesn't seem to like the deep snow. even with a dog as tall as him, our snow is deep enough to go up to his chest, and then some. he bounds through it, but doesn't really seem thrilled. and he doesn't like wearing the coat, or at least he doesn't like wearing the coat when I put it on him. he spends as much time shaking as he does standing in the trench that is the shoveled sidewalk, looking pathetic. then he kind of squats funny. then he shakes again.
it took him a really long time this morning to decide to pee. he just couldn't seem to figure it out. I wonder if he doesn't like the feel of cold snow on his wee-wee. after he finally decided to get off the sidewalk and go into the snow, he burrowed around in it a bit, then stopped and looked at me and whined. and I looked at him, and said, "go pee!"
he did, eventually. then I let him back inside. so much for a snow dog. as much as he doesn't seem to like his coat, I can't wait to try him out in those boots....
