Name: Renee Montoya
Alias: The Question
Fandom: DC Comics
Renee was an accomplished Gotham City cop when Two-Face outed her as a lesbian and threw her life into disarray (he also framed her for murder, but funnily enough, that didn't cause nearly as as much damage); she eventually left the force after she couldn't bring herself to kill the man who killed her partner, Crispus Allen. She was at rock bottom when a weird faceless man snuck into her room, asked her who she was, and disappeared after dropping an address into her discarded underwear. The man, she discovered, was Charles Victor Szasz/The Question; she also discovered, after they became best friends, that he was training her to discover herself and become the new Question, as he was dying of lung cancer. Renee came to the island soon after he died and she decided to become the Question.
Abilities/Possessions
Renee has the secret identity of the Question; as the Question, she wears a mask that makes her appear faceless and Charlie's fedora (and often a trenchcoat). Her mask can only be taken on and off with a special gas dispersed from her belt buckle; if you don't know about it, you're probably not going to unmask her. Her hair and clothes can also change color with use of the gas. She's proficient at mumblemumble martial art and is a practiced marksman.

As Renee Montoya:
* Renee knows of/has met most of the Gotham crew (Batman, villains, etc.), and she'll have at least heard of most DC superheroes and villains. She knows of the Watchmen characters as fictional, but she's met a Rorschach anyway.
* bewaredacreeper: Renee's heard just enough about the Creeper through the GCPD that she cuffed him, thinking him to be a criminal. Whoops.
* mannedingly: A weird animate mannequin. After determining it wasn't going to attack her, Renee started befriending it.
* moonracedingly: A not unattractive woman Renee chatted up welcomed. Renee isn't aware she's not a she.
* wantbetterworld: Jenny Sparks, a meta from another universe she's chatting with.

* szasztastic: Charlie, Renee's BFF and the original Question. This one's from before he met her. He knows that they're friends and that she's taken up his mantle, but not that she watched him die of lung cancer. She gets sad when he smokes.

Renee's pre-Question canon is mostly from Gotham Central, and her journey to becoming the Question is in 52. Renee comes from right after the end of 52.
