Sleep
I stand tired baring the scars of the years
It seems I never sleep enough to regain my strenght
Through blistering summers and the death of autumn
And in the winter while you're sleeping, i'm still awake
Campfires burn with the passion I once had
Only embers now illuminate my paths
Lost in the maze between rights and wrongs
Everyturn is just another dead end
Delayed whispers and high-school criticism
Double edged words are jabbed into my heart
Betrayed by my own source of affection
Her scent tears me apart
Screaming from the kitchen rings into my room
Another slammed door causes hostility between the two
I can't take the broken words and the dissapointed faces
Sometimes it's like a battle between the races
My eyes are burning from the lack of sleep
I need somthing here to make things right
Anything to rectify the wrongs
So I may sleep at night
Lie down, close your eyes and sleep
