This is not a song that would generally make me think of Supernatural. The story is about the man having to do the "work of the woman" (waiting, caring, crying, worrying) while the woman is ill. It's worth looking up the original video, because it's one of those few music videos that actually adds something to the song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=raVfK6__rJ0).
Anyway, somehow that all got twisted into Dean dealing with John's death and the weight that it puts on him, to have to take over even more of that 'caring' role for Sammy. Not that John was doing so brilliant a job really... But you know what I mean.
The challenge was to make my Mum cry. It was close.
