a slight comeback in plo8 trying to clear some bonus. so instead of losing 6 tournaments today, it's like i lost 3. fine, whatever.
the last one i played was so hilarious. with blinds at 300-600, i was in 2nd. it folds to me in the SB. i shove with J4o, and get called by the chip leader, who had slightly more than me...K9! so basically he decided to play his whole stack with K9. before this i doubled him into that lead by shoving with KJs into AA, which is just great timing. the hand preceding that i shoved and showed AQ, so it's not like i had a terribly loose image.
oh, i didn't get there after making this mistake (debatable because most of the time they have less than K9, and usually they fold that!). i never make a mistake and just flop two jacks. does it happen against me? oh, all the time!
just for the record, here are some hands that dominate K9:
AA
KK
A9
AK
QQ
99
KQ
KJ
KT
TT
JJ
that's 11 hands. my range also includes pocket pairs 88 and below, which in that case he flips a coin...and even if i have the J4 (or any other marginal holding, not including Kx below an 8), a hand he leads in, it's still 5 cards i can hit to break him.
