And clearly that's why you're drawing attention to the matter.

It's annoying, not life-threatening.

Isn't that the type of thing you aren't supposed to say, for fear of it becoming true?

I don't think I've got to worry about that much, thankfully.

...open mouth, insert foot, right?

But that leaves me pretty bloody relieved, if I'm reading it correctly.

No. It's just once you've died twice it sort of loses its sting, yeah? No worries.

Twice? How did you manage that?

I was dead when I arrived here. A few weeks ago, I was killed again.

Right, I'd figured that much- wonderful job clarifying, Hermione.

A random person exerting power while in the City, I'd imagine. I hope that they found the culprit, contained the person somehow.

Something like that. But no, she's not been caught. There were some others killed around the same time - in my situation at least I'm glad it was me and not someone else. Doesn't really affect someone that's already dead too much, yeah?

Then now there's this bloody petrification wave going about.

And yet, you know who she is?

...I wouldn't really know how much it affects a person, living or otherwise.

Petrification-is she a witch, then? Or, well, I suppose it'd too easy if she were one of us.

I don't, no. She spoke before I died, so I heard her voice and know it was a female.

... I'm fairly sure I was more angry than distressed about it the second time 'round.

It's not our magic. If it were, it would be easy to turn them back - as it is we've got to wait until they turn back on their own. It's just good that they are.

The fact that they are changing back makes this seem more like a lark, or possibly a threat. I don't suppose there's been any consistent pattern in the types of people that have been attacked?

Not so far as I know, no. They're not exactly releasing many details.

...fair enough, I suppose.

They didn't with the stabbings, either - I'm pretty sure they're still in the dark themselves, anyway.
