[ It's unclear as to where Regulus is - the lighting is dim, and there's a figure across from him - though it's clearly not alive and to those that have seen one before, it's a training dummy.

Regulus is in frame and, with a lazy flick of his wand- ]

Well, yes.

All of that destructive force, and you just...point and flick? Just so easily and effortlessly?

That's terrifying.

Yes. You have to learn it first, of course.

It is, in the wrong hands.

Then what? It's a latent ability which must be cultivated? For that matter, who would one cultivate a...spell or whatever, to blow something up in the first place.

That's not a thought to give a man nightmares for life at all.

Yes, it's something you're born with that shows up while you're a child and is cultivated in school. [ A pause. ] For the same reasons that muggles have weapons.

It would perhaps distress you more to hear that I've some talent as a duelist back home, Mohinder. However - those not involved in such things likely would not be able to blow something up with so much ease.

To kill one another, you mean?

I can't imagine having the kind of ability that magic would give someone to do good, and to use it for something like sport.

My world was in war when I left it.

Sport is for children. I was something of a... soldier, I suppose you could put it.

It is the simplest and closest parallel I can think of.

I'll never understand how something which could be used to heal would instead be used to kill.

Ever.

There are different sorts of magic, just as there are different sorts of people - dark and light.

Just because we have magic does not make all of us good people by default.

I suppose not. I suppose that one might possibly need to...cultivate an appropriate defense against those who would abuse their power.

Magic or...otherwise.

No world is perfect, so yes. There will always be conflict and those that harm others - with them, those that protect others, using the same weapons.

Magic or otherwise.
