i'm utterly stunned.

firstly, in the tournament that was held in bandung, indonesia, my team broke 10th. my team was formed 5 days before the tournament. we had never debated together before, not even during training or selections. and as an entire contingent, NUS hadn't trained much in the run up to the tournament, because we (read: the law students) only ended exams less than a week before we had to jet off to bandung. this is contrasted against smu, which trained for a solid month before the tournament, which they could because they finished their exams way before we even started ours.

secondly, there was the shopping i got done in bandung (which is factory outlet haven) and by the first two days of the great singapore sale. i think i've no need to shop for anything else for the next few months! not only did i manage to cover all the items on my list, i also got them for excellent prices. thankfully (or not for schizophoenix), there is still the rest of joel's wardrobe to shop for (though we also got some great deals on thursday when we added three pairs of jeans and pants to his wardrobe in one day), so the rest of the gss is not wasted on me. hahaha.

lastly, i got my results back today (two weeks after coming back; intervening two weeks have been spent diarrhoea-ing and just generally slacking). i actually felt much worse about this set of papers than i did about the previous semester's, but the grades didn't bear that out! i got good grades; not first class grades but second upper grades, and in bell-curved nus where like 12 people get first class grades, i'm quite happy with mine. i should be working harder next semester to truly test my ability; i wasn't studying as consistently or as intensively as i did for a levels. but for my relatively-relaxed-approach-to-first-year-grades, i'm quite happy and immensely thankful. :)

exsanguinating exams, all is vanity, law school, unidebate
