1. unlike many other people, i did not tear up/burn/destroy my a levels notes/tutorials/essays. they've been taking up space in my room, and as soon as i get my hands on raffia, i shall bind them up and take them either down to the store room or up to the study, in case my sister needs them in future. as it is, my old sec 3 stuff saved her around $70 this year, and goodness knows that my science textbooks were infinitely more useful that her teacher's powerpoint slides.
2. i have a new hobby. i wish to exterminate all the ants in the house. hence i take a piece of tape, and when i see an ant, i use the tape to squish the ant, and peel it off to find the ant's carcass on it. repeat as often as necessary. it's actually strangely cathartic, especially because a number of these buggers have the audacity to bite me.
3. yesterday i helped to blow $757 on history books. wheeee. unfortunately, none of them will be mine, although i'll probably get to read a lot of them, and over a long period of time too. this is the next best thing to authentic retail therapy, because it's got none of the guilt, and almost all of the benefits. benefits include gaining the impetus to stand around in kino for four hours, thus preventing my behind from expanding further. hurrah.
4. ok this one isn't my shameful secret. it's saddam hussein's. jeanne and i found this series of books at kino yesterday, in the history section no less. it chronicles the sex lives of prominent figures, so there's one volume of "the sex lives of dictators" and even a volume of "the sex lives of popes"(!!!) in any case, according to "the sex lives of dictators", he was bisexual. not only did he have his numerous wives and mistresses, he also enjoyed vigorous gay sex and even acted in a homosexual blue movie. after we reached that point, we were too grossed out to read any further, and so we took refuge at the lit shelf.
the best is yet to be,
