nostalgia in glitter

being the procrastinator that i am, i've only just gotten round to pasting all my autograph papers in a scrap book. if you knew me around this time last year, i would have been distributing A5 pieces of coloured paper to various people for them to write their autographs on. they've been languishing in a flat popular plastic bag for the past year, and i decided to spend a few hours putting everything together. while admiring and reading the completed product, i noticed that girls use abnormally large amounts of glittery, colourful pens. after i finished patting everything down in the book, my palms were covered with a sheet of glitter.

jinin's autograph triggered my "i-miss-you!" emotions, and reminded me of all those times in the library listening to her discman play rachaninoff for us, rummaging through the shelves of cds in the ny library, and lunch at j8 before going for our respective german or malay classes. claudia's reminded me of the last RMUN and britain's obsession with tea time. sam fong's reminded me that i am one of ten gourmet library infiltrators. (grunge and classic black and flashlights!) sam yeo's reminded me of the first RMUN, and the first noel ;) (la la la). auwd's reminded me of cambridge. lyn's smacks of irony and potato salad! and sonia's blank page reminds me that she still owes me one! (i shall collect my debt from you next year, bos!)

and that's just some of the nostalgia that has been triggered by the autographs of ny debate'03. there're many many more, memories of third lang and its attendant mrt journeys, of the 1/11 and 2/11 cat-filled days with lin yan, si en and co, and last but not least the class of 4/11.

i think this scrap book is going to be just as precious to me as my england photo album is.
