Month in Review:

The first two weeks of March were spent trying to get students to pass before the end of the trimester.  Those who I could get to do the work were suprised at how easy it was - "yeah all you had to do was do it".  A lot of them realized how incredibly lazy they were by not doing the at home learning.

Spring break had nothing too exciting.  Played a lot of video games.  Got into Valheim which is a Viking "skyrim/minecraft" like experience.  Lots of fun, and it will only get better because it is still in the early stages.  The multiplayer needs to be improved though, I keep having to disconnect/reconnect when playing with friends because I desync and cannot interact with objects.  There was also one very frustrating experience when I died but no gravestone appeared so I lost all my stuff.

I enetered into the Free Enterprise Lali-Ho league.  I have been suprised at how I am doing, I am currently 3-0, so I just need to win one more match to make it to the brackets.  I almost feel like that because I asked to not be restreamed I am "purposely" not being paired with the big league people.  I know I'm not that good, the async races tell me that I cannot break the 50% place, so I suspect that if I make it to the brackets I'm going to lose the first round.  It has been a lot of fun though and the admin team did a fantastic job with a streaming boot camp.  I am now streaming on Twitch for the first time and it isn't too bad.

After spring break our district switched to full in person.  It is like they didn't listen to a single teacher for feedback.  We should wait at least 2 weeks after spring break because so many people are coming from vacation and have a high chance of having and spreading Covid.  Plus in the districts "infinite wisdom" they are doing a normal sechedule this week (which is what we should be doing for the whole term) and then switching to a new schedule next week that may confuse a bunch of kids.  Plus I am not optimistic about Wednesdays, although I am kinda excited to do my own little "mini courses" and possible teach kids some tricks in Excel, how to type on a keyboard (they don't learn that at all!  I checked with one of the admin who used to be at the middle school), and maybe explore fun topics and demos we never had the chance to do.

This Friday I got my second dose of the Moderna Covid-19 vaccine.  The next day I was a wreck - sever headaches, short breaths, cough, and a very high fever (102-103).  I was almost worried that I would have to go to the emergency room, but then I don't want to pay for a visit for them to tell me to go home.  It was awful yesterday.
