Its been a good day today, with gorgeous weather. I've spent the morning in the booking office. mainly trying to distinguish Route Numbers and work out how to sell tickets for Battersby. Joy. Still its been a steady day visitor wise, but possibly not as busy as a Gala as big as this should be. Alex had a fun morning with his Granny and the dogs.
This afternoon I took him in the sling and squeezed under and over a selection of fallen trees to go and look at the Bluebells in the woods. They will be beautiful next weekend! Still, the woods where full of flowers, empty of people, scented with bird cherry flowers and quite lovely. We then came back and Alex stole the last 1/2 of his Daddy's ice cream, again! That boy has had an eating junk week, but he needs to put some weight back on after all his growing so it won't do him any harm.
Molly, Rob, Bobby and Rosy passed through again today, but Bobby and Alex didn't get to use Rob as a climbing frame today or have a competition to see who could stuff the most blueberries in their face at once today, unlike yesterday, as they were heading for Whitby.
Alex has been playing with one too many sticks today as I had to get 2 splinters out of his fingers, luckily a good squeeze got them but needless to say he wasn't pleased.
Tomorrow I'll catch an afternoon train to Mum and Dad's, then on Tuesday we are abandoning Simon and the cats and heading to Elterwater for the rest of the week. I've even had the evening off as I got Andy to make dinner (well, he is a chef), but I did do a cracking orange semolina cake smothered in chocolate sauce for pud. I was going to make it to take with us, but then I checked and found out semolina is wheat based and Rosemary is a ceoliac. Oh well.
Alex has managed to rack up another loco today, but as its the same one as yesterday with different numbers on it I'm not sure it counts as number 24.
