It was nice to see Beci and meet Ella, she has the most amazing shock of black hair for a 3 week old baby, and is all tiny and floppy. Its hard to remember Alex that size, but he was never so floppy! We spent most of the day in doors, away from Simon, as the weather was so bitterly cold. Bring back the sunshine!
In the evening 12 of us went out to the Pickering Cantonese restaurant, which was nice when they eventually took our order and served us! Mum kindly stayed behind and looked after Alex.
Today Mum, Lib, Alex, I and surprisingly Simon went to Whitby. We had a nice amble round, fish and chips for lunch which Alex happily scoffed, then we caught the train home. My day was somewhat affected by being crapped on by a herring gull, which felt like having a golf ball dropped on my head and took half a pack of baby wipes to sort of clean it out my hair. Yuck. I did manage to push Simon into an outdoors shop and get him to buy some new walking trousers. Stealth shopping attack FTW!
Alex enjoyed the train rides as well as his day out as we got a seat bay with a table and he spent all of both 1 hour trips crawling round on the table poking and playing with all 4 of us. It didn't take him long to work out that Mum and I were passing his hat under the table between us, which is why it kept vanishing and reappearing somewhere else. He also twigged the water bottle he was playing with opened when a woman at the next table drank from hers.
That child is far too clever and observant! The only other thing going on is that I think I've buggered my new Vibrams by washing them too hot so the glue comes undone. I've emailed the manufacturers to see if they have any suggestions, but I might wind up trying to copydex them back together! I'm really annoyed about it, as I've only had them 1 year and the last pair lasted at least 7 years. There is a possibility they are fakes as I bought them on Ebay, unwittingly from Thailand.
