(no subject)
Monday was good, we had a good day with Bram and Jas, then after dinner we threw all 4 of them in the bath, which was a bit mad even in Mum's huge bath! On Tuesday we went to the Scarborough Sea Life Centre, which was a very busy shambles, however Alex loved every minute of it! He was kicking his legs, waving his arms and taking it all in. He was very quiet the whole way round as he was concentrating in everything so hard. Stijn didn't appear to get anything out of it, which high lights the difference between them! Mum and I might take him to the Deep in Hull some time soon, as I'm sure he'd love it.
We had dinner with them all and came home, after incurred M's disapproval as I bath Alex every other day! It was odd spending time with them as Ben is such a good father and so hands on, and Simon isn't, but I knew that before I got pregnant. Its an odd contrast as I love Simon and regard Ben as a bit of a pratt! When I got fed up of him boasting about money and told him we'd paid off our mortgage, he told me our 4 bedroom house in the catchment area of 1 of the best schools in York probably wasn't worth that much anyway! Bless him. I did get a nice coat for Alex off them though, as Stijn has out grown it.
On Wednesday Alex and I went swimming, which we both enjoyed. We also made a friend, due to us having a spare swim nappy and being able to rescue someone who'd forgotten hers. We are both using the same reusable nappies, have cats, and babies who won't sit still or sleep during the day in case they miss something, so we had lots to talk about! I shall look forward to next week.
Yesterday I was supposed to be going in to town to meet the NCT post natal group, but I couldn't park so I gave up, as it was just too busy. I'll catch up with them on Monday.
Simon came home in good time yesterday so we went to Sainsbury's and kitted Alex out for the winter. Hopefully it'll keep him in clothes for a couple of months. That saves me paying for it all on t'interwebs.
Today I've been sorting through all the new bits I've got in the post this week, including melamine soup bowls, soup spoons and new nappies. Exciting stuff!
Alex's chin is healing up really nicely too. I told Ben it was a carpet burn.
