I finally made my Laterculi last night, little poppy and sesame seed pastries with mixed nuts and honey. Once I'd quadrupled the amount of honey in them, they are quite nice. I'm not totally convinced about the lasting power of pastry made with just flour, water and olive oil, but they are quite a healthy snack.
Simon got back a bit early last night,s owe cleaned out the front garden. It looks a lot neater with all the piles of dead stuff done, and I always feel really self conscience working out there on my own, so it was nice to have help. I do know all the neighbours aren't watching me, but sometimes its hard to convince myself!
I was cooking dinner when Roy rang to say hes got swine flu and won't be back at work until Wednesday at the earliest. I don't think he'll have passed it on to me, but Alan is off this week and no-one will be around tomorrow. I'm not cancelling my day off, so I'm closing the place, telling everyone I've got appointments and letting them assume I mean antenatal stuff & not with my friends may be a bit naughty, but I don't care! Looks like next week will be as much fun as last week.
After that happy bit of news, I managed to get a lot more stuff in the attic, so the wardrobe in the babies room is now nearly empty, apart form some old coats. I may just have to eBay my leather jacket, as I never wear it any more and its not exactly a practical coat, but its another bit of my youth I'd be letting go! I've also got Grandpa's old American Officer's jeep coat in there, which is worn and a bit tatty, and Simon hates, but I love. I've no clue what to do with that.
