Police leave & a rant!
Simon has just sent me a rather interesting article about police leave and pagan officers, apparently they are going to get the Sabbats off, though they do have to rearrange things to count as part of their annual leave. Its nice to see it made official.
The news has been annoying me a bit lately, I heard a story yesterday complaining that it is hard to get good statistics on swine flu as people are staying at home and not going to the doctors to be diagnosed, but aren't we told frequently to stay at home, ring the special help line, and not go to the doctors so the infection doesn't spread?? Nice to see joined up thinking and a common policy in order to reassure the general populace and contain a possible pandemic.
I'm finding the whole thing stupid, as people have forgotten that flu is a killer and what most people think of as influenza is just a common cold. If you are between 5 and 70 and have no underlying health issues its is extremely unlikely to kill you. It could get interesting when the flu season does truly kick in, but I'm sure the pharmacies/government have enough time to stock up on antivirals before that happens. Enough all ready, find something else to report!
