The other thing I did on Saturday was spend some time on the map Uncle Richard sent me to help Katrina find out where her ex brother-in-law and his wife died. Steels Creek, if anyone is interested. Her ex Mark had sent some emails back with further details, which were pretty grim. They weren't in their car as first thought, but apparently some types of car upholstery if they get hot enough melt to resemble human bones. The fire investigators squeezed in under the collapsed roof of their 2 story house and found half of his glasses and a few shirt buttons along with burnt fragments of bone, so that is all the body they have to bury. It sounds like a fireball hit the house, so they would have died pretty instantly, but it is still pretty grim stuff.
On a lighter note, I wended my way back through town yesterday as Simon has the car in Pickering for another 'this is a railway' tour. It was nasty, as its half term, but the continental market was on, so I got some nice lunch, and some baklava, as well as all the other stuff I needed for home and the railway, and the list was quite long. I also finally got my boots to the cobblers, so I shall pick them up this afternoon on the way back home again, and probably have some more baklava!
I had a nice evening with Becky last night, when she eventually arrived. It turns out she is engaged to a bloke she met 3 month ago, and is planning her wedding for next year. She is struggling to do it at a good price, as she wants a humanist wedding in a field somewhere. She was then telling me how her three previous relationships had ended after 3 years as she felt something was missing, so she's going to marry this one after 2. Logical?
Oh well, people have to make their own mistakes. She is really struggling as her Mum is a raving Catholic and won't recognise anything other then a church wedding. At least I had support on all sides for my rather odd wedding.
We are off to Ruth's tonight, so it will be nice to catch up with her.
