Whew!

Busted my fucking ass today and I feel good about it, woohoo.

Got up at 7:50am, exercised in my room, ate, then went over to physical therapy. Gave myself a stiff workout there and contacted Rochelle, my pending workout buddy, and she affirmed she still wanted to join Planet Fitness. So I came home, around 11am, bought myself a year long membership to Planet Fitness, bought a sports tv package (only $10/mo, so I can watch my 49ers), set up my Netflix account under my mom's name, and organized my catering availability schedule.

From there I did the big task which was to really begin to dig into this Real Estate iframe website business. I looked at the two example sites that Dino from OLR sent me and I saw something dubious, and problematic, outside of the messy layout of the sites. When you clicked on a listing it didn't change the URL. Meaning, you go to the "rentals" section of Tom's Realty so the URL is www.tomsrealty.com/rentals/, right? And there's the search navigation and all the listings to pick from. You click on one and it goes to another page, opens it up, but the URL is the exact same. That's an issue if you are trying to drive traffic to a specific listing. Or to a specific category, if you're doing Google PPC, I'd want the page URL to read something like ryanwalker.com/rentals/williamsburg1bedroom and a specific listing to say ryanwalker.com/rentals/williamsburg1bedroom376keapstreet (It wouldn't read exactly like that, but you get the picture). Anyway, I was speaking to Wix support about it and they transferred me to their tech forum so I just posted in there.

If this is a common thread with iframes it is up to me to troubleshoot it and figure out a workaround because if I can't then I won't be able to use Facebook ads or Google Adwords PPC. I honestly don't know what these other two people with the iframes have them for if they're not running ads. Do they think someone is going to dig past Zillow, and Trulia, and Realtor.com, and Streeteasy, and whatever the fuck else to get to their random site to do a search? The only reason, only reason, to have your own site with MLS or an iframe is if you are pushing the properties in front of people's eyes before they head on over to Zillow. You do that with digital advertising. SEO and organic search means shit in the world of real estate.

Anyhow, along with lunch and grooming, that was basically my morning and early afternoon. Then I walked to Rite Aid, picked up my Lamictal, walked to Planet Fitness, picked up my membership tag, then went down to Steiner Studios and got fit for Marvelous Ms Maisel (filming next Tuesday). Got a little haircut too for an added $15. Tried to finish in time to get to Sam Ash so I could get my Traktor S2 controller from Xris but he was leaving a bit early to get to the Stray Cats show. I'll try and swing by tomorrow. After buying my bluetooth speakers from Amazon yesterday the controller will be the last thing to be replaced from what Jacob fucking stole.

Got dinner on the way home and now just feel super goddamn accomplished. I was basically just being productive non stop today and being proactive about my future. Gotta keep up this type of effort. Looking forward to hitting the gym with Rochelle!

wasz, ryan
