If you're going into cardiac arrest, I'm certified to save you.

So I spent 3 hours tonight doing my CPR re-cert at the office...good times. Two pluses: 1)I didn't have to pay the $35 for it that the council usually charges volunteers, and 2)I get flex time for it. However, even though I'm now re-certified in CPR, I am no longer certified to be a lifeguard (sigh of disappointment from the crowd...but not from me, as I feel that I've paid my dues being a guard...I think 8 years of guarding and teaching swim lessons is quite enough).

So my CPR mannequin turned out to be the only one who was, shall we say, of color. It reminded me a little bit of the black Jesus statue in Madonna's "Like a Prayer" video. (I chose not to share this observation with my classmates, all of whom were GS leader moms.) I thought of that whilst I was doing mouth-to-mouth on him, and it made me chuckle.

Still no word from not-so-much Jared...in a bizarre twist of fate, it turns out that this girl who's a friend of Jacob's (the one who was at my apartment when the unfortunate squirrel incident went down) knows him because they're from the same town and she's friends with his sister. (I still have to ask him why he was talking to her about some date I went on.) I've pretty much decided that he's not going to call, which is unfortunate because it was a nice time, but whatever.

YUCK. I have to be to work tomorrow at like 7:15, because I have a conference at 7:30. Then we're driving to one of our camp properties for an all-day work retreat. It shouldn't be too bad, but I have a feeling it's gonna be a long day.

I'm out.
