Storm Headed Our Way, Will Hit GTA Later Tuesday
Tuesday February 13, 2007
The first major storm of 2007 to hit the GTA - and arguably the first significant one since this winter began - will be upon us by the end of the day. Those living in the GTA can expect approximately 10-15 cm, with the flakes starting to fall at about the time many commuters leave work. Winter storm warnings are in effect for most southern parts of the province, from Windsor to Oakville, where it's expected at least 10 to 15 cm will fall. The national weather service suggests strong winds and frigid cold temperatures could result in blizzard-like conditions for some parts of Ontario. The City of Toronto issued another extreme cold weather alert mid-Monday to help homeless people in from the potentially dangerous temperatures.
Today more than any other storm warning day, I really really wish I were at home, snuggled up on my big cosy sofa. You know why? Because that's where I forgot my effing gloves and mittens (that's right, together) this morning!!! I just had to go out and buy a cheap-o (albeit quite cute and soft and fuzzy) pair of emergency gloves!
Ack!
