Living the Simple Life...
Yes, it's really me. Checking in probably for the last time in a while. I had kinda fallen below LJ radar until I got a comment from queenjade wondering if I'd ever come back. Good question!
Everything is going really well for me and the kittens. We're now living in Skyhouse (an income sharing subcommunity) at Dancing Rabbit Ecovillage in rural Missouri.The past few months have been a whirlwind of packing up my apartment, visiting DR, going home to pack up my things and moving out here. It's been three weeks since my arrival and I'm finally settled into my new lifestyle.
Living in an ecovillage is a magical experience. We grow our own vegetables, take good care of the earth and each other, and try to be a model for how other towns can live sustainably. The air is cleaner, the food is fresher and my heart is lighter. My quality of life is much improved by not having a rigid schedule to adhere to. I spend some time in the garden, some time doing graphic design work for Skyhouse Consulting, and some time just swinging in a hammock. I just do what I want when it suits me and I find it allows me to have a higher energy level overall. Yay, no more burnout!
I'll probably drop out of the LJ circle for a while as I simplify my life. I'm trying to spend less time in front of the computer and more time out in the fresh air.
