Things I'm digging right now

--the new Arcade Fire album. WOW. It's too early to tell if it's a crush or a long-term relationship...some of my favorite albums ever I was "meh" on at first, like Roxy Music's "Stranded" but at first listen this has that grab-me-in-the-gut-love-so-much quality I just haven't heard in an album in awhile. The best part is that it's an imagination stimulant...I know it's good if I can think of scenes involving many different characters while I listen, to get me going with different projects at different times.

--Model Iselin Steiro dressed as Bowie for Vogue Paris. I doubt anyone will fulfill my fantasy movie of a Velvet Goldmine-esque glam rock epic with hot androgynous female rock stars played by Tilda Swinton and Cate Blanchett instead of guys. So this will have to do. There's a bunch of them but I won't clog everyone's feed with a zillion girl-Bowies.

--My Nintendo DS. I haven't played video games much in years, but recently I realized that if I'm addicted to a video game I'm less likely to go out and spend money on other things. And video games are awfully cheap these days.

--A coldfront! In the beginning of October! Usually we don't get one until about Halloween!

Things I'm Not Digging:

--My stupid hands! I am more than ever convinced that my RSI is purely emotional/psychological and not physical because...well, it's now been half a year since I stopped trying to treat it like a physical injury, and I feel WAY better, and when I'm excited about what I'm writing, I can go for weeks writing 2-4k a day and feel only the barest pain, but as soon as I feel mopey and stuck, like I would rather do anything but write, my hands are killing me. Which makes it even HARDER to sit down and write. Also, it's the weirdest thing. You'd think now that I know it's psychosomatic it would go away entirely, but I guess it has a purpose to serve, and that purpose is likely keeping me from being a workaholic... Maybe someday I'll learn my lesson.

random, repetitive stress, music
