I'll be appearing at the science fiction convention Oasis in Orlando on May 30th. I'll be speaking on a couple of panels. The convention spans the weekend but I think I will only be there Sunday, although the schedule is still being finalized. I doubt this blog has many locals who love me or science fiction enough to shell out $20 for it....but

I went to DragonCon last year! But this year I am poor. -_-;; And all the hotels were booked already when I thought about making a reservation back in Feburary. Sheesh!!!

Oasis reminds me of... a particular creepy guy... but I have never been.

I'm not sure I really fit in Oasis remotely, but they invited me, so...*shrug* Anyway, there are ALWAYS aspiring writers at these things who just want to hear about publishing and writing, which is universal, so that will work fine.

Man, I can't go to DragonCon, the hotels sold out even faster than last year! Dade and I were talking about going together and I was like "okay, well, the Wyndham was fine, I'll reserve a room there and if we don't have money we can just cancel it" and...yeesh. Gone. I know you can park yourself on the mailing list and wait for people to cancel their reservations, but I'm not really that ambitious. Plus at this rate I'm wondering when I will EVER have money again...

aw, man! Even the Wyndham sold out? That's insane. Of course the Marriott sold out within an hour, so I guess the other hotels would sell out too. Too bad though, it would so cool if you came!! I can't wait to to go the aquarium and the convention guests list looks awesome, it's gonna be great! If you do get paid you should still see if you can find a room! Russell is going to be a spartan this year (along with like everyone else I know) so there will be a lot of times I could use some company, wishing you were there!

Yeah, all the hotels that had the shuttle buses were sold out. OMG. Well, I guess I will keep it in mind as a consideration still...it does seem like a ton of people I know are going...
