The greatest thing you'll ever learn
is just to love
and be loved in return.
But the thing is, um, what I'm trying to say, very inarticulately, is that, um, in fact, perhaps despite appearances, I like you, very much. Just as you are.
If you look for it,
I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that
love actually is all around.
Sam: OK. The truth is actually... I'm in love.
Daniel: Sorry?
Sam: I know I should be thinking about Mum all the time, and I am. But the truth is I'm in love and I was before she died, and there's nothing I can do about it.
Daniel: Aren't you a bit young to be in love?
Sam: No.
Daniel: Oh, OK, right. Well, I'm a little relieved.
Sam: Why?
Daniel: Well, you know - I thought it might be something worse.
Sam: [incredulous] Worse than the total agony of being in love?
Daniel: Oh. No, you're right. Yeah, total agony.
Mark Darcy: I like you, very much.
Bridget: Ah, apart from the smoking and the drinking, the vulgar mother and... ah, the verbal diarrhea.
Mark Darcy: No, I like you very much. Just as you are.
I've been going crazy. I can't stop thinking about you, and thinking about what an idiot I've been.
You think you've found the right man, but there's so much wrong with him, and then he finds there's so much wrong with you, and then it all just falls apart.
Bridget Jones: You are angry.
Mark Darcy: No, I'm not angry, I'm just disappointed.
Bridget Jones: Disappointed? Oh god, that's worse than angry.
Mark Darcy: I'm just disappointed I can't take you home this instant.
I think that made me feel better.
A bit.
