Sometimes I wonder if the Internet is depleting our natural supply of "butterflies." I'm talking about those butterflies that you get in your stomach when you talk to that someone special.
I'm in my room on my laptop and adjacent to this livejournal window is a list of two hundred "friends" that I can talk to. It fascinates me that I can say just about anything to anyone in seconds, but I wonder what it was like twenty years ago.
Imagine... If a guy liked a girl..
He had to call her. And when guys call girls and when girls get phone calls from guys there's a certain amount of nerves involved (depending upon the situation, of course). It just feels like people get to know eachother today through aim, hotornot, myspace, livejournal, facebook, etc. etc. etc. If you want to meet a girl or a guy, it's simple.
And I'm wondering if because it's so simple girls and guys don't feel the same way as they did in the 70's or 80's.
I love butterflies.
And I'm sad to see them go.
