High Intensity Exercise Trumps Easier Workouts For Weight Loss, Body Fat, Cholesterol
A group of Dutch researchers wanted to measure the difference of low- and high-intensity exercise on blood pressure and other important health measures. They had two groups of subjects cross over between the research protocols, one low intensity and one double that intensity. It appears the exercise levels were roughly equivalent to walking vs running. Results: Both exercise levels produce good blood pressure effects, but only the higher intensity exercise reduced weight, body fat, and key cholesterol levels. Source: Journal Of Hypertension.
