Many things have happened in the past few weeks. I've seen several movies, joined a club on campus, started work on a project for said club on campus, possibly made a few new friends, and remembered just how much I don't like parties.
It's not that I actively dislike parties. I just find them incredibly boring. I managed to spend this particular one mostly in the kitchen away from the smoke and gibbering crowd. Most of the people at this thing I at least find tolerable so it's not like the people were the issue, just there wasn't really anything to do. I think next time I go to one of these functions I'm going to bring my sketchbook, a notebook, a novel, and maybe my DS. If I have one by that time I'll bring a netbook so I can write. On the bright side, while most of the group was this amorphous blob in the living room there were the occasional outliers. A friend of one of the designers in the group who's joined as another artist spent most of his time on the fringe as well so I ended up talking to him quite a bit. I just hope I didn't bother him too much. I also hope I didn't accidentally offend anyone. One of the guys in the group asked me if me and the artist guy were dating and I started laughing. It was funny because of the way this guy asked. He was trying to be polite but direct at the same time and not all the words lined up quite right. It wasn't till later that I realized that might have been taken as "haha, that guy's a loser, why would you assume such a thing about me."
Bah. The highlight of the night was on the ride home listening to people suddenly start saying "hamuuuuu" and waving around a Ponyo puppet. That and amusing adventures with mac and cheese.
In other news, I've once more become addicted to Pokemon. I picked up Soul Silver when it came out and have had a pokewalker on my hip ever since. The layout of SS versus the original is vastly improved in my opinion. The interface is better due to how the menus are now set up, the berry system is no longer annoying, and in general I just like it better.
School is also going well. My sculpting has gotten considerably better and I may actually end up posting pictures of my most recent one. I'm thinking of getting back to my harpy project soon.
If anyone has bothered to read this far, I have a question. My roots have grown out significantly and it's starting to seriously bother me. While I like having really light hair it's expensive to touch up. I'm also planning on going dark anyway for Fanime when I go as Ples so I want as much outgrowth as possible. So I'm considering dying my hair blue. What do you guys think?
