I have to admit first that I just adore the light blue colour that is used for the "steles" cards. It is just plain gorgeous!
Okay on to the card itself now. Gabriel and Cecily. Such a sweet kiss. I love how Gabrial is holding a stele and how Cecily is bringing him to her with her hand in his neck and her other hand curled in his cravat and pulling him towards her. Love how you can see that she is warrior, a fierce fighter, in the way that she is drawn here. And Gabriel looks os happy here. No arrogance at all, just love for Cecily. Beautiful!
Sophie and Gideon right after Sophie's Ascension.. She is still holding the Mortal Cup in he rhand. And look how happy both are cause now they can finally be truly together. Gideon's kindness and happiness spats off the card. And Sophie is of course drawn with the scar across her face. Happy that she is finally a Shadowhunter as this was her fierce wish and probably also happy cause Gideon is there with her and they can start their life together now. Gideon shares her in Sophie's dream and her joy over having become a Shadowhunter probaly is affecting Gideon and making him even more happy than he already was. Such a cute couple.
Will with the nine of steles. I love how he is crouched in front of them and overlooking the steles. The way he’s positioned reminds of how one might be while visiting a loved one’s gravesite. Notice also that he is holding Tessa's jade pendant in his hand. Tessa got the pendant from Jem when he proposed to her. It is the jade pendant of Jem's mother. This clue could very well hint at the fact that Jem becomes a Silent Brother and thus the marriage with Tessa can't go through whilst at the same time Will loses his parabatai Jem as Jem no longer is a Shadowhunter. In any case, beautiful card.
Clary marking Simon with the Mark of Cain in the Halls of Accords to protect him when Raphael demands Simon in turn for the vampires' help in the war against Valentine. look how determined Clary looks. She almost looks angry cause she is forced to put this horrible mark on her best friend to keep him safe and alive. Simon looks resigned. He knows there is no other way. Nice.
