BPAL reviews and thank yous
this one is all about the lovely Bpal i have gotten lately.....
The lovely
_lore kindly sent me her collection of ALL of the Holiday scents.. all of them.. for me to sniff and sample. No, i don't get to keep them, but its still a real treat. As might be expected i found some scents that i didnt think i would like, but i did. i also found a few scents that from the description i expected one type of scent, and on me they just dont smell like that (for good or ill). Oddly some of the winter scents seem to be coming up light florals on me. Darn it, i may have to put in another order before January 15th when they come down if i can afford it.
Angeronolia: Wet this is sweet gardenia with the barest hint of citrus. Drying starts bringing out some of the crisper notes. On me its Gardenia, a hint of citrus, and maybe just a touch of some other floral
Shivering Boy : this one smelled weird wet, but dried to a oddly light floral, a touch of bitter undertone made it less "me" than optimal.
Snow White: Wet this has a warm sugary smell on me. As it dries I am getting a light floral, and the scent is getting “whiter”
aaaaaaanddd......
fruit of paradise, which was labeled as "bittersweet pomegranate" well. i want to know where the rose smell is coming from? because once it dried this is a pomegranate, hint of cherry, and rose scent. i like it you understand, but not at all what i expected.
bulletslc sent me a bunch of wonderful imps, which i am mostly being very good and not sampling until i can get _lore's stuff back to her, but she also sent me a sniffle of "Mad Sweeney" from the Neil Gaimen collection. and i HAD to try that one.
on me it smells like a bit of light oak barrel and maybe smoke, and. butterscotch?, and a touch of whiskey. i really like it, a lot more than i expected... and i wasnt expecting the butterscotch notes.
In the meantime i have been getting irregular surprise packages from people. the lovely advantage of having a memory like a hyperactive ferret is that i never recall that i ordered that..
